No need for extra DC power connection for the connected Hdd. The Hdd will work like a normal Hdd inside your PC, with transfer speed of 3Gb/s. And able to be act as the OS booting disk.

SE-FP-USB3-PeSATA-22 has also 2 Power over eSATA / USB combo ports, and 2 external 5V and 12V power connection.

The 2 Power over eSATA Ports combine eSATA with +5 and +12 V DC supply, together with USB connection to outside of a PC. You can connect USB, or eSATA device from mother broad, and power from supply easily.
