This accurate depiction is made possible by Sony’s sophisticated BIONZ™ image processing engine, which expertly processes every detail captured by the high-resolution 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor. Even the most processor-intensive tasks are handled with amazing speed and precision, including 5fps continuous shooting* at full 24.3 effective megapixel resolution, rich 14-bit RAW format conversion and high-sensitivity shooting up to ISO 102400.

Full Resolution With No Compromise
The RX1R is a modified version of the RX1 for photographers who will settle for nothing less than the maximum resolution of which the RX1 sensor is capable, and whose workflow include computer-based post-processing. The optical low-pass (anti-aliasing) filter that is built into the RX1 to minimise the occurrence of moiré and colour artefacts has been removed from the RX1R, allowing the full resolution of the sensor to be achieved without compromise. The trade-off is that post-processing may be required for moiré removal in some images, but the resolution and sharpness advantages are well worth it when image details really matter. The RX1R takes RX1 resolution to the limit.

Sensitivity For Even The Lowest Light Conditions
The RX1R provides a wide default sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 25600. Its highly sensitive 35mm full-frame sensor, bright lens with maximum F2 aperture, and sophisticated image processing technology collaborate with the utmost precision to deliver both high sensitivity and low noise throughout the entire sensitivity range. In Auto ISO mode, you can limit sensitivity to any range between ISO 100 and 25600 to match your desired shooting intentions. Sensitivity can also be extended downward to ISO 50*.

Ergonomic Design And Easy Operation
From its perfectly positioned lens aperture ring to its customisable function buttons, the RX1R is designed for absolute ease of use. You can keep your eyes on your subject while comfortably adjusting aperture, focusing and macro switching rings, so you don't lose focus on what you want to shoot.
